Heart Transplant

Heart Transplant Surgery

Heart transplantation is a well known surgical process in which a diseased or non-functioning heart is replaced with a healthy one. A heart transplant is required when all other kinds of medical procedures fail to successfully restore the normal functioning of the heart.

The medical process comprises all kinds of medication and surgeries. The heart is removed from someone who is either brain dead or on ventilation. The healthy heart is removed from the donor and dipped in a solution before the transplant takes place.

Generally, a person who is suffering from congenital heart disease, heart valve damage, cardiomyopathy, coronary artery disease or life-threatening arrhythmias can undergo heart transplantation.
