Liver Cancer

Introduction

Liver cancer, also called primary liver cancer, can be damaged by primary liver cancer. Cancer that spreads from anywhere to the liver, known as liver metastasis. Liver metastasis is a malignant tumour in the liver that has spread to another part of the body affected by cancer. The stages of liver cancer are Stage I, II, III and stage IV. In most of the cases, it’s difficult to say the reason for liver cancer.

What are the types of Liver cancer?

Hepatoblastoma: Usually children from the age group of around 4 years will have a chance of getting this type of cancer. With the help of chemotherapy and surgery, almost most of the patients will be treated successfully.

Hepatocellular carcinoma: This type of liver cancer will mainly occur in adults, it consists of different patterns of growth. Usually, it will grow a small tumor which will end up as a large one.

Angiosarcoma: This will occur in the liver blood vessels and this is a rare type in cancer. This type of tumor will grow very fast.

Cholangiocarcinoma: Cholangiocarcinoma typically begins in the bile ducts and is characterized by pain in the abdomen, yellowing of the skin, itching and loss of appetite and weight.
